Men's Soccer Falls, 1-0, to No. 5 Ohio Northern in NCAA First Round

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to fifth-ranked Ohio Northern University tonight (Saturday, November 10, 2012) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

With the loss, the Saints end the season at 13-4-4.  With the win, the Polar Bears improve to 21-2-0 and advance to play host Carnegie Mellon in a second round match tomorrow.

Ohio Northern scored the lone goal at the 9:22 mark off the foot of Jeremy Bates.

Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded four saves, while allowing one goal.

Senior forward Brad Baumer (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) led the Saints in shots with three.  Ohio Northern won the battle of shots, 13-19, but corner kicks were tied at 5-5.
