Box Score (GREENVILLE, Pa.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team fell, 3-2, to Thiel College today (Saturday, October 27, 2012), but clinched the No. 1 seed in next week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament as it only had to win one set against the Tomcats. Thiel won the match by the scores of 18-25, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-11.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 22-5 overall and 15-1 in the PAC. With the win, the Tomcats improve to 21-7 overall and 14-3 in the PAC.
The Saints were offensively by sophomore outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) with 16 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) had 14 and junior middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) added 13.
Defensively, the Saints had five players with double-digit digs as sophomore defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) had 37, freshman defensive specialist Becca Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) had 17, junior defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) had 16, Cronin had 14 and senior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) finished with 13.
Thomas More returns to action at 5 p.m. tonight when it plays Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
