Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team came-from-behind defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Washington & Jefferson College, 3-1, on Wednesday (October 24, 2012) at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 10-3-4 overall and 5-1-1 in the PAC. With the loss, the Presidents fall to 5-7-3 overall and 3-3-1 in the PAC.
W&J took an early 1-0 lead when Adam Suter scored unassisted at the 4:38 mark. The Saints tied the match at 1-1 when freshman midfielder Tim Knauer (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) scored off a rebound at the 10:07 mark. Senior midfielder Jacob Waldrop (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) gave the Saints a 2-1 lead when he scored at the 25:15 mark on a penalty kick.
Thomas More closed out the scoring at the 63:24 when sophomore defender Alex Dean (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) scored unassisted for the final score of 3-1.
Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves, while allowing one goal.
Thomas More out-shot W&J 21-12 and won the battle of corner kicks, 2-1.
The Saints close out the regular season on Saturday (October 27) when they travel to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to play Waynesburg University at 8 p.m. at Wiley Stadium.
