Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team extended its winning streak to 17 matches as it defeated Grove City College, 3-0, tonight (Thursday, October 18, 2012) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Thomas More won by the scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-22.
With the win, the Saints improve to 20-4 overall and remain undefeated in the PAC at 13-0. With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 12-14 overall and 6-9 in the PAC.
The Saints offense was led by junior middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic), who had 18 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) and freshman outside hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) each added six kills. Senior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) led the team in assists with 32.
Defensively, the Saints had two players with double-digit digs as sophomore defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) had 14 and sophomore defensive specialist Christina Brackett-Newport (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) had 13. Knaley led the team in blocks with three block assists.
Thomas More returns to the court tomorrow (Friday, October 19) when it hosts Geneva College at 6 p.m.
