Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team defeated Anderson University, 4-0, today (Saturday, September 3, 2011) in a non-conference match at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 2-0 and with the loss, the Ravens fall to 0-2.
Thomas More took an early 1-0 lead when freshman forward Kyle Troutman (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) scored off a cross from senior midfielder Alex Oeswein (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual). Sophomore midfielder Cooper Hill (Fayetteville, Ohio/Fayetteville Perry) increased the Saints' lead to 2-0 when he scored on an assist from Oewein at the 7:02. The Saints extended the lead to 3-0 when Troutman scored unassisted at the 19:33 mark.
In the second half, Thomas More extended the lead to 4-0 at the 62:20 mark when freshman forward Jacob Plummer (North Olmsted, Ohio/Corpus Christy Academy) scored on a pass from Troutman.
Senior Zack Lawson (Frankfort, Ky./Frankfort) played all 90 minutes in goal and did allow a goal.
The Saints out-shot the Ravens, 17-5, including 11-0 on-goal.
The Saints return to the pitch on Tuesday (September 6) when they host Wittenberg University in a 6 p.m. non-conference match at The Bank of Kentucky Field.
