Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Thiel College, 3-1, tonight (Wednesday, September 21, 2011) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won by the scores of 25-14, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-18.
With the win, the Saints improve to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the PAC and with the loss, the Tomcats fall to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the PAC.
Junior outside hitter Hanna Lietz (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the Saints' offense with 16 kills, while senior middle blocker Katie Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with 15 and freshman outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) finished with 14.. Senior setter Michelle Clifford (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) led the team in assists with 29.
Defensively, three Saints had double-digit digs as freshman defensive specialist Christina Brackett (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) had 18, freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Michigan/L'Anse Creuse) had 17 and Lietz had 13.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (September 24) when it travels to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for PAC tri-match at Chatham University. The Saints will play the host Cougars at 11 a.m. and Grove City College at 1 p.m.
