Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The No. 3 seed Thomas More College volleyball rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat No. 6 seed Saint Vincent College, 3-2, tonight (Tuesday, November 1, 2011) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament quarterfinal match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won by the scores of 21-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 15-9.
With the win, the Saints improve to 19-10 overall and advance to play No. 2 seed Bethany College in a semifinal match on Friday (November 4) at 8 p.m. in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 21-11.
Freshman outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) led three Saints in double-digit kills with 23. Joining her with double-digits were junior outside hitter Hanna Lietz (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) and freshman outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) with 10 each. Junior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) led the team in assists with 39, while senior setter Michelle Clifford (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) added 20. Defensively, freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the team in digs with 44 and Cronin added 13.
