Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Westminster College, 3-0, today (Saturday, October 29, 2011) in its regular season finale at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won the by the scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-20.
With the win, the Saints finish the regular season at 18-10 overall and 13-5 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The Saints clinch the No. 3 seed in next week's PAC Championship Tournament and will host No. 6 seed Saint Vincent College on Tuesday (November 1) at 7 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center. With the loss, the Titans end the regular season at 19-11 overall and 11-7 in the PAC. The Titans will be the No. 5 seed and will play at No. 4 seed Thiel College on Tuesday.
Offensively, the Saints had three players with double-digit kills in the match as junior outside hitter Hanna Lietz (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had 16, while freshman outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) had had 13 and senior middle blocker Katie Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with 11. Senior setter Michelle Clifford (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) led the team in assists with 32.
Freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the team in digs with 21 and Cronin added 16.
