Thomas More Defeats Saint Vincent, 3-1, in PAC Action

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Saint Vincent, 3-1, tonight (Monday, October 17, 2011) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 15-9 overall and 10-4 in the PAC and with the loss, the Bearcats fall to 17-8 overall and 7-6 in the PAC.

Offensively, the Saints were led by freshman outside hitter Karsen Cronnin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) with 17 kills, while junior outside hitter Hanna Lietz (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) and sophomore middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) each added 11 kills.  Junior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) finished the match with 47 assists. 

Freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anase Creuse) led five Saints with double-digit digs with 25.  Joining her with double-digit digs was freshman defensive specialist Christina Brackett (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) with 13, Lietz with 12, sophomore defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) with 11 and Verville with 10.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (October 22) when it plays two PAC matches in two cities as it plays Waynesburg University at 11 a.m. in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and then travels to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to play Geneva College at 6 p.m.
