Thomas More Defeats Westminster, 1-0, to Remain Undefeated in the PAC

(NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team defeated Westminster College, 1-0, today (Wednesday, October 12, 2011) in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints improve to 9-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the PAC and with the loss, the Titans fall to 3-10 overall and 1-3 in the PAC.

Senior midfielder Alex Bertke (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) scored the lone goal of the match for the Saints at the 52:34 mark.

Senior goalkeeper Zack Lawson (Frankfort, Ky./Frankfort) played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded his seventh shutout of the season as he had three saves.

Thomas More out-shot Westminster, 15-7.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (October 15) when it hosts fellow PAC co-leaders Geneva College at 3 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
