No. 14 Women's Volleyball Hosts MSJ Wednesday

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The No. 14-ranked, 11-1, Thomas More women's volleyball team returns home to host the Mount St. Joseph Lions on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup.

 

  • The No. 14-ranked 11-1 Thomas More women's volleyball team hosts the 5-4 Mount St. Joseph Lions on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup.

  • The Saints dropped their first match of the season against No. 3-ranked Wittenberg in the Wittenberg Fall Classic last weekend.
  • The Saints took the Tigers to four sets, falling 3-1 with scores of 24-26, 24-26, 25-14, 18-25.
  • Thomas More defeated Mary Washington 3-0 and Heidelberg 3-2 on Friday.
  • In the Wittenberg match, Junior middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) had 16 kills and six total blocks.
  • First-year outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had 14 kills.
  • Sophomore outside hitter Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) had 10 kills.
  • Senior setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 44 assists.
  • Sophomore defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the defense with 22 digs

 

  • The Lions come into the match 5-4, coming off a 3-0 loss against Mt. Vernon Naz. on Saturday.
  • The team has recorded 349 kills, 321 assists, 457 digs, and 39 blocks this season.
  • Cailey Plemmons leads the team with 101 kills.
  • Briana Looney leads the team with 24 blocks.
  • Sydney Wilzback leads the team with 287 assists.
  • Karlie Schell leads the team with 129 digs.
  • The Lions defeated Wilmington twice, Denison, and Ohio Christian so far this season.
