No. 14 Thomas More Falls at No. 3 Wittenberg, 3-1

(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio.) – The 14th-ranked Thomas More women's volleyball dropped its first match of the season today (Saturday, September 15, 2018) as it fell 3-1 to third-ranked Wittenberg University at the Wittenberg Fall Classic at the Pam Evans Smith Arena in Springfield, Ohio.

The Saints fall to 11-1 and the Tigers improve to 7-1.

  • Wittenberg won the match by the scores of 26-24, 26-24, 14-25, 25-18.
  • Junior middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) had 16 kills and six total blocks.
  • First-year outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had 14 kills.
  • Sophomore outside hitter Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) had 10 kills.
  • Senior setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 44 assists.
  • Sophomore defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the defense with 22 digs.
  • Junior outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) finished with 18 digs.
  • Junior defensive specialist Hannah Just (Louisville, Ky./duPont Manual) tallied 15 digs.

  • Thomas More returns to action on Wednesday (September 19) when it hosts across-the-river rival Mount St. Joseph University at 7 p.m. inside the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
