Junior Highlights (2025-26): He competed in 22 matches and finished with a 17-5 record. He had seven wins by pin and three total wins by major decision, including two as he finished in
4th place at NCAA Regionals on March 1. The other win by major decision came enroute to a
first place finish at the Spartan Mat Classic on January 17. As he finished in
2nd place at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, he recorded a win by tech fall.
He was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
Sophomore Highlights (2024-25): Appeared in 32 matches on the season. Posted an overall record of 31-1 on the year. Recorded 19 wins by pin, 3 by tech fall and one by major decision. He was an NWCA National Qualifier for the 141Â lb. weight class. He won the G-MAC Championship for the 141lb. weight class and was named First Team All-Conference.Â
Redshirt First Year Highlights (2023-24): Wrestled in 21 matches for the Saints, posting an overall record of 20 wins and 1 loss. He recorded 15 wins on the season. He qualified for the NCWA National Championships where he went 5-0 with 4 pins and claimed the NWCA National Championship for the 141 lb weight class.
Freshman Highlights (2022-23): Did not compete this season for the Saints.
High School Highlights: Thomas attended Ryle High School where he wrestled for head coach Tim Ruschell. Over is four year career he was a four time state champion and tallied an overall record of 221-2.
Personal: Cole Thomas is the son of Darren and Francine Thomas. He has five siblings, Taylor, Paige, Maggi, Emily and Gabriel. He transferred to Thomas More from UT-Chattanooga.
