(WAYNESBURG, Pa.) – The Thomas More University wrestling team went 0-3 today (Saturday, December 8, 2018) at the Waynesburg University Duals inside the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.

MESSIAH COLLEGE MATCH:

  • Thomas More fell, 35-7, to Messiah.
  • Junior Andrew Taylor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) battled before falling 8-7 at 174.
  • Sophomore Cody Roland (Taylor Mill, Ky./Scott) suffered a 7-5 loss at 149.
  • Sophomore Kenny Byers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) fell, 12-10 at 133.

STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MATCH:

  • Thomas More fell, 36-16 to Stevens.
  • Sophomore Jimmy Murphy (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had a 15-5 major decision win at 125.
  • Sophomore Jimmy Traub (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) earned a pin in 2:52 at 165.
  • First-year Tyler Kassinger (Louisville, Ky./South Oldham) had a pin win in 2:06 at 285.

APPRENTICE SCHOOL MATCH:

  • Thomas More fell, 39-6, to the Ship Builders.
  • Junior Avery Jones (Amelia, Ohio/Glen Este) won at 184 with a pin.
  • Murphy battled at 125 before falling 6-5.

  • Thomas More will return to the mat next Saturday (December 15) when it competes at the Kalahari Duals hosted by Heidelberg University at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio.
