Edmundo Echeverria is entering his third season as the men’s assistant track and field coach at Thomas More University during the 2023-24 academic year. He completed his second season as the assistant men's cross country coach.
Edmundo came to Thomas More from Larry A. Ryle High School, where he had been the director of cross country, head men’s and women’s cross country coach and the head men’s and women’s track & field coach. Prior to focusing on the running events, he was the head women’s soccer coach at Ryle High School from 2008 to 2012 and served on the men’s soccer team at Ryle from 2013 to 2017.
Echeverria helped Ryle to three track 3A Region 5 Championships, five consecutive NKCA Championships in track and field, and a women’s cross country 3rd place finish in the 2020 3A KHSAA Finals . He also coached many New Balance Outdoor National qualifiers including the 4x100 and 4x200 relays (2019).
Coach Echeverria has a Bachelor of Art from Appalachian State University as well as a Master of Arts in Education Leadership from Northern Kentucky University. Echeverria holds a Level 3 Coaching Certificate in Sprints/Hurdles/Relays from United States Track & Field, a Level 2 in Endurance, and a Cross Country Certification also from USATF, and a Level V certificate from the World Athletic Academy in Sprints and Hurdles.
