Thomas More Falls to Earlham in Season Finale

(RICHMOND, Ind.) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team fell, 15-2, today (Saturday, April 27, 2019) in its season finale at Darrell Beane Stadium.  With the loss, the Saints end the season at 1-11 overall and 0-6 in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC), while the Quakers improve to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the HCLC.

  • Earlham scored the first four goals of the match to take 4-0 lead.
  • First-year midfielder Kiera Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) scored on a free position shot at the 17:42 mark of the first half to cut the lead to 4-1.
  • Quakers scored 10 goals to a build a 14-1 lead.
  • Junior midfielder Jalee Connor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) scored unassisted with 8:29 to play in the match to make the score 14-2.
  • Earlham scored in the closing minutes of the match for the 15-2 final score.

  • Connor tallied seven shots, including five on goal.
  • First-year attacker Katie Rice (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) took six shots, including five on-goal and had three draw controls.
  • Junior defender Aleyna Heyman (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) had five ground balls.
  • First-year defender Katie Bryson (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East) had five ground balls.
  • First-year goalkeeper Kennedy Yurt (Louisville, Ky./Mercy) played all 60 minutes in goal and 16 saves.

  • This was the last match of the season for the Saints and they will transition to NAIA and the Mid-South Conference next season.
