Women's Golf Places Fourth at PAC Championship; Three Saints Name All-Conference

(BELLE VERNON, Pa.) - The Thomas More College women's golf team shot a final round 398 today (Saturday, April 25, 2015) at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania for a 72-hole total of 1,637 (396-425-418-398) to finish fourth at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship.

The PAC Fall Championship and PAC Spring Championship makes up the 72-hole Championship used to determine the 2015 PAC Champion, which earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship.

Thomas More had two Saints finish in the Top-15 at this weekend's Spring Championship as freshman Shanna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna) finished ninth with a 196 (101-95) and sophomore Katelyn Beatrice (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) placed tied for 14th with a 204 (102-102).

Sophomore Emilie Mattei (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished 16th with a 206 (109-97), freshman Amber Greene (Catlettsburg, Ky./Fairview) placed 18th with a 210 (106-104) and freshman Lydia Fischesser (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) was 26th with a 237 (122-115).

The PAC combines individuals' scorers at the Fall and Spring Championships to determine All-Conference honors and Thomas More had three Saints earn All-Conference honors.  Doumount and Mattei earned second team honors with a 386 (91-99-101-95) and 405 (96-103-109-97) respectively and Beatrice was honorable mention with a 418 (105-109-102-102).

Washington & Jefferson College won the team championship with a 1,439 (377-367-352-343).

The PAC Championship wraps up the 20140-15 season for Thomas More.
