Thomas More In Fourth Place After Two Rounds of the PAC Championship

(NEW CASTLE, Pa.) - The Thomas More College women's golf team shot a second round 425 today (Tuesday, September 30, 2014) and is in fourth place with a 821 total (396-425) after first two rounds of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship played at the New Castle Country Club in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

The 2014-15 PAC Championships feature a 72-hole stroke play event, with 36 holes played at the Fall Championships and another 36 holes played at the Spring Championships in April. The combined 72-hole team total will determine the 2014-15 PAC team champions and winners of the league's men's and women's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships.

New for 2014-15 season, the All-PAC teams, as well the PAC Players of the Year, will be determined by the combined 72-hole scores from the Fall and Spring Championships. In previous years, All-PAC and Player of the Year honors were determined exclusively at the 36-hole Spring Championships. The All-PAC teams will be made up of the top 15 overall scorers (5 first team, 5 second team, 5 honorable mention).

The Saints were led by freshman Shanna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna), who is in a tie for sixth place with a 190 (91-99).

Two other Saints were in the Top-20 as sophomore Emilie Mattei (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) is in 11th place with a 199 (96-103) and sophomore Katelyn Beatrice (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) is in 19th with a 214 (105-109).

Freshman Amber Greene (Catlettsburg, Ky./Fairview) is in 22nd place with a 218 (104-114) and freshman Renee Theibert (Pataskala, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) is in 30th with a 235 (116-119).

Washington & Jefferson College leads the team standings with a 744 (377-367), while Grove City College's Esther Durling leads the individual standings with a 175 (89-86).
