(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The 21st-ranked Thomas More University women's basketball team cruised to a 121-47 victory over Miami University-Hamilton on Saturday afternoon (November 30, 2019) to close out the 18th Annual Julie Costello Memorial Classic – presented by Barleycorn's at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

  • Thomas More raced out to a 33-5 lead after the first quarter and went into the half leading 48-15.
  • The Saints forced 21 first half turnovers as first-year guards Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner) and Zoie Barth (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) each had four steals at intermission.
  • Thomas More shot 68.8 percent (11-16) from the field in the second quarter.
  • Senior guard Kaela Saner (Florence, Ky./Boone County) led all scorers in the first half with 13 points
  • Barth added 11 points and five assists in the first half.

  • Thomas More scored 39 points in the third quarter after shooting 83.3 percent in the period (15-18), extending their lead to 97-34.
  • The Saints made 5-8 three-pointers in the third quarter (62.5 percent), including two by Hurst.

  • Thomas More improved to 6-0 and Ohio-Chillicothe fell to 2-9.
  • Saner was named the Julie Costello Memorial Classic Most Outstanding Player, and she was joined on the All-Tournament team by senior forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart).
  • The Saints outscored the Harriers 45-2 off turnovers, 46-6 in the paint, and 22-2 on the fast break.
  • Saner led all scorers with 18 points on 8-11 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists.
  • Hurst finished with 15 points, four assists, and four steals.
  • Barth scored 13 points and had a team-high eight assists with four steals.
  • Schultz scored 15 points for the Saints and pulled down four rebounds.
  • Junior guard Syarra Sellers (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) scored 13 points with three steals.
  • First-year guard Brooke Perry (Verona, Ky./Walton-Verona) scored 11 points off the bench.

  • The Saints will open Mid-South Conference play on Tuesday, December 3 with a road matchup at the University of the Cumberlands at 6 p.m.
