(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More University women's basketball team moved up to No. 3 in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
The Saints are 11-0 on the season with wins over then No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and No. 5 University of Chicago. Thomas More is ranked in the Top-10 in three NCAA Division III statistical categories after 11 games. The Saints lead the country in final points (974), field goal percentage (53.8) and assists (206). The team is ranked second in scoring offense (88.5), third in steals (157), fourth in scoring margin (+33.1), sixth in three-point field goal percentage (41.3) and 10th in assists per game (18.7).
Senior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) leads Division III in final points (262), triple doubles (one), steals (45) and field goals made (93). She is also third in free-throws made (61), fourth in assists (65), fifth in points per game (23.8), eighth in field goal percentage (64.6), ninth in steals per game (4.09) and 12th in free-throws attempted (70). Junior guard Kaela Saner (Florence, Ky./Boone County) is 12th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (50.0).
The Saints return to the hardwood on Friday and Saturday (December 14-15) as they compete in the Hope College Post Exam Jam in Holland, Michigan. Thomas More will play No. 19 Baldwin Wallace University on Friday at 5 p.m. and either No. 2 Hope or Finlandia University on Saturday.
