(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Thomas More University softball team has moved into the rankings at No. 25 in the nation in the NFCA Coaches Poll.
Thomas More is 25-9 on the season, already having faced three top-25 ranked teams. Thomas More ranks in the top-20 of three different statistical categories. The Saints sit at No. 12 for home runs per game, .97 percent of games. Thomas More also sits at No. 13 in slugging percentage with a .550 on the season, and at No. 15 in on base percentage with a .438.
Senior pitcher Alix DeDreu, from Rising Sun, Ind. and Rising Sun High School, leads the nation in doubles, with 19 this season. She also sits in the top-20 in doubles per game, sitting in third with a double in .59 percent of games, is currently in sixth place in hits this season with 54, sits in seventh place with a 8.20 strike-to-walk ratio, and is 13th in the nation with 123 strikeouts.
Senior shortstop Mary Beth Odom, from Taylor Mill, Ky. and Dixie Heights High School, is currently ranked in the top-20 in homeruns-per-game, sitting in third with a home run in .41 percent of games so far, third in homeruns hit this season with 13, and fourth in slugging percentage with a .988.
Junior first-baseman Andrea Gahan, from Cincinnati, Ohio and Oak Hills High School, is currently tied for 16th in the nation for total RBI's this season with 38.
Saints return to the field this weekend, taking on Adrian on April 19 in a double header starting at 1 p.m. The Saints' senior day will be on April 22, in the final two games of the regular season for the Saints, hosting Anderson starting at 1 p.m.
