(HANOVER, Ind.) - The Thomas More University softball team swept the Hanover College Panthers today in a two-game series. With a win in game one, Head Coach Lindsay Eagan recorded her 300th career win and in game two, senior pitcher Alix DeDreu recorded her 207th career hit making her the All-Time Hit Leader in program history, passing former teammate Laura Finke, who set the record last season. The Saints won game one 6-1 and game two 10-3. With the wins, the Saints improve to 13-7 on the season.
GAME 1
- In the third inning, Andrea Gahan hit a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead.
- In the sixth inning, Morgan Wells doubled to left field, advancing Kenzi Dickerson to third and scoring Mary Beth Odom.
- Elana Harrison grounded out to second base, advancing Wells to third and scoring Lindsey Meier, who pinch ran for Dickerson.
- Adrian Marquez moved to second on a wild pitch, scoring Wells.
- Whitney Quillen reached on a bunt, moving Amanda Lloyd to second base, scoring Marquez.
- DeDreu doubled down the right field line, moving Quillen to third and scoring Lloyd.
- With the win, Head Coach Lindsay Eagan recorded her 300th win.
- Both DeDreu and Wells recorded a double in the game.
- Gahan hit the lone home run in the game.
- Harrison, Wells, Odom, and DeDreu all shared the team-high with two hits each.
- With her second hit in the game, DeDreu tied the all-time record for career hits at 206.
- DeDreu was on the mound for the Saints, facing 24 batters and striking out seven batters.
- The Saints led the Panthers 12-3 in hits.
GAME 2
- Hanover got on the board first, scoring in the first inning.
- Odom hit a solo home run in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1.
- DeDreu doubled to left center field, scoring Quillen in the third inning.
- Odom reached first on an error by the third baseman, scoring Gahan.
- Dickerson singled to left field, scoring Odom.
- Harrison doubled to left center field, moving Wells to third and scoring Dickerson for the fourth run of the third inning.
- Gahan hit a two-run home run over the left field fence, scoring Quillen in the process.
- Odom hit another solo home run in the fourth inning to take an 8-1 lead.
- In the sixth inning, Dickerson singled through the left side of the field, moving Odom to second and scoring Gahan.
- Wells singled through the right side of the field, moving Dickerson to second and scoring Odom.
- With her only hit in the game, DeDreu became the new All-Time Leading Hitter in Thomas More softball history with 207 hits.
- Odom led the team with three RBI's and two home runs.
- Gahan and Dickerson each recorded two RBI's.
- Quillen, DeDreu, Gahan, Harrison, and Lloyd all hit for a double in the game.
- Gahan went 3-4 at the plate, recording the team-high of three hits.
- Kianah Towe started on the mound in game two, facing 20 batters allowing three runs and striking out four batters.
- Hannah Sprague took over for Towe, facing seven batters, allowing zero runs.
- The Saints remain on the road taking on Otterbein tomorrow in another doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
