Softball Takes on Hanover and Otterbein Today and Tomorrow

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More softball team heads to Hanover today to take on the Panthers in a double-header at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tomorrow, Thomas More takes on Otterbein in another double-header at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The Saints come into the games today 11-7 and on a six-game winning streak, coming off four wins over the weekend, two over Wittenberg and two over Muskingum. 

  • In the Saints' most recent games against Muskingum, Thomas More defeated the Muskies 7-0 in game one and 15-7 in game two in five innings. 
  • In game one, Andrea Gahan hit two home runs in one game for the first time this season, and led the game with a season-high of five RBI's. 
  • Alix DeDreu, Amanda Lloydand Gahan each hit for doubles in game one. 
  • Whitney QuillenKenzi Dickerson, and Sydney Turner each recorded one sacrifice bunt to advance a runner into scoring position.
  • Gahan went a perfect 4-4 at the plate, scoring two runs. 
  • Lloyd went 2-3 at the plate, eventually reaching home each time. 
  • DeDreu was on the mound in game one, facing 28 batters, allowing zero runs and recording eight strikeouts. 
  • In game two, eight different Saints recorded RBI's in game two, four of which recorded multiple. 
  • Mary Beth Odom, Dickerson, and Morgan Wells all hit home runs in the game. 
  • Wells and Dickerson led the team with two hits each, with Dickerson and Gahan with the team-high of three RBI's each.
  • Dickerson also went a perfect 2-2 at the plate. 
  • Hannah Sprague started on the mound for the Saints, facing 14 batters, allowing five runs and striking out two batters.
  • Kianah Towe came in for Sprague, allowing two runs, facing 12 batters. 
  • The Saints and the Muskies each recorded 11 hits in the game. 


  • The Panthers come into today 7-7 overall on the season. 
  • Last week Hanover split a road doubleheader at Spalding last Friday, March 22.
  • Hanover dropped the opener, 1-0, before taking Game Two, 10-1, in five innings.
  • Senior Carlie Roark and junior Shelby Edington both homered in the win, as Roark and sophomore Mackenzie Smith each posted two extra-base hits.
  • Smith added a double and triple during the victory.


  • The Cardinals come into the game tomorrow 10-6 overall on the season.
  • Most recently, Otterbein defeated Mount Union in both games of the double-header, 9-5 in game one and 4-1 in game two. 
  • The Cardinals are averaging a .291 batting average on the season and a .402 slugging percentage. 
  • Courtney Hackey leads the team with a .382 batting average while Alyson Shaw has recorded 20 hits already this season.
  • Pitcher Alex McComb leads the pitching team with a 1.27 ERA, striking out five batters this season. 
  • Gabby Johnson leads the team with 60 batters struck out.

  • The Saints return home on Mar. 31 to host Denison in a double-header at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
