10 Saints Compete at Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet

(DELAWARE, Ohio) – 10 Thomas More University track & field student-athletes competed today (Thursday, May 16, 2019) at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at George Gauthier Track inside Selby Stadium in Delaware, Ohio.

  • Junior Jacob Steinmetz (St. Leon, Ind./East Central) finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 147-3, sixth in the hammer throw with a throw of 149-11 and sixth in the shot put with a mark of 43-11.75.
  • First-year Makai Lewis (Dayton, Ohio/Belmont) placed 21st in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.06-seconds and 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.93-seconds.
  • Junior Corey Young (Cincinnati, Ohio/Finneytown) placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.37-seconds.
  • Sophomore Shawndale Mincy (Covington, Ky./Holmes) was eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of a 52.51-seconds.
  • Junior Zack Osburg (Woodlawn, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) was 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.63-seconds and 15th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.23-seconds.
  • Junior T.J. Moore (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished 10th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.69-seconds.
  • Senior Michael Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:06.13
  • The 4x400-meter relay team of Moore, Mincy, Young and senior Chris Loos (Highland Heights, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished third with a time of 3:25.49.

  • First-year Regan Atwood (Bellevue, Ky./Bellevue) finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 36-6.25, seventh in the discuss throw with a toss of 91-1 and ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 100-6.
  • First-year Milan McNulty (Mason, Ohio/Mason) was fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.95 and fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.82-seconds.

  • This was the last scheduled meet for the Saints.
  • The Saints will transition to NAIA and the Mid-South Conference next season.
