(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio) – The Thomas More men's tennis season fell, 6-3, to Wittenberg University today (Thursday, September 20, 2018) in its season opener at the Albright Tennis Complex in Springfield, Ohio.
Thomas More falls to 0-1 and the Tigers improve to 2-0.
- The No. 1 tandem of senior Derrick Kwok (Sugar Land, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) and sophomore Jared Haught (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic) fell, 8-2.
- Junior Sheldon Preisler (San Diego, Calif./Boone County (Ky.)) and first-year Ethan Caruso (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) fell 8-2 at No. 2.
- No. 3 pair of sophomore Brandon Kwok (Sugar Land, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) and sophomore Alex Traylor (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) won 8-3.
- D. Kwok fell, 1-0, retired at No. 1.
- Caruso fell, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.
- Sophomore Jeffrey Schenk (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) fell at No. 3 by the score of 6-0, 6-4.
- Haught fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4
- Preisler was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 5.
- First-year Jaret Fidler (Bakersfield, Calif./Centennial) won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6.
- Thomas More to action on September 30 when it travels to Franklin, Indiana to play Franklin College at 12 p.m.
