Men's and Women's Swim/Dive Competes in Tri-Meet at Franklin

(FRANKLIN, Ind.) – The Thomas More University men's and women's swim and dive team competed in a tri-meet between Franklin College, Transylvania, and Hanover College today. The men's team defeated Transylvania, 112-50, but fell to Hanover, 103-85, and Franklin, 226-40. The women's team fell to all three schools, 150-67 against Transylvania, 129-73 against Hanover, and 218-31 against Franklin. 

  • On the men's side, the Saints finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay, with a combined time of 1:55.71. 
  • The team also finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.60.
  • John Butler placed fifth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.48.
  • Austin Smith finished third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.01. 
  • Smith also finished 51.56 in fifth place in the 100-yard freestyle and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.51. 
  • Justin Hailey placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.55. 
  • Hailey also finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.98. 
  • Luke Stuart finished third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.51.
  • On the women's side, Amanda Scola finished in fourth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a final time of 2:07.22. 
  • Scola also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.94.
  • Shelby Miller finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.61. 
  • Miller almost finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:30.82 and fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.13. 

  • Thomas More returns to action on Nov. 29 competing in the Denison Invitational.
