Foster, Day Combine for Both Goals in 2-0 Saints Win at Hanover

(HANOVER, Ind.) – The Thomas More University men's soccer team scored two early goals en route to a 2-0 road win at Hanover on Friday afternoon (September 13, 2019) to improve to 3-2-0.

  • First-year midfielder Reese Foster (Florence, Ky./Covington Catholic) opened the scoring in the 6th minute, assisted by Bryce Day (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic).
  • Foster and Day connected again in the 11th minute for Foster's third goal of the season.

  • This was the first multi-goal game of Foster's career.
  • Hanover outshot the Saints 11-9, but the two teams were level on shots on goal with five each.
  • Junior goalkeeper Andrew Mathews (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) made five saves to earn the shutout in his first start of the season.

  • The Saints will return home for a matchup with Indiana East on Thursday, September 19 at 7 p.m.
