(PRESTONBURG, Ky.) – The Thomas More University men's golf team carded a first round 291 today (Saturday, April 6, 2019) and is in first place after the first round of the University of Pikeville Spring Invitational at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonburg, Kentucky.


  • Junior Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) leads the tournament with a 71.
  • Junior Jacob Zai (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) shot a career-low 72.
  • Junior Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) carded a 74.
  • First-year Landon Finn (Florence, Ky./Boone County) fired a 74.
  • Senior Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) shot an 80.


  • The Saints' "B" team shot a 318.
  • First-year Sebastian Sims (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) shot a career-low 73.
  • Sophomore Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) carded a 74.
  • Sophomore Robby Case IV (Crestview Hills, Ky./Covington Latin) shot a 84.
  • Junior Blake Baioni (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) fired an 86.
  • First-year Tyler Sansom (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) shot a 95.

  • Thomas More will close out the UPike Invitational tomorrow at Stonecrest Golf Course.
