Sims is in his 3rd season as the head golf coach at Thomas More University during the 2025-26 season. He returns to Thomas More where he was a member of the men's golf team from 2018 to 2022. Earning Team Captain honors as a junior and senior. During his career as a Saint he played in over 35 rounds and earned Mid South Conference All-Academic honors. 

While at Thomas More, Sims maintained a 4.0 GPA as he earned his B.A. in Business Administration and his Masters in Business Administration, graduating in 2022.
