Ronnie Griffin is entering his third season as head men's tennis coach at Thomas More University during the 2024-25 season.
During the 2023-24 season, Griffin led the Saints to a 2-10 record in their first season in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II level.
A graduate of Citrus Valley High School class of 2014, owns the Southern California MVL record going his last 3 consecutive seasons undefeated in high school, with a total high school record of 124-6. He then played for 4 years at Monmouth at every spot in the singles and doubles lineups before finishing his last 2 years as the number 1 singles and number 1 doubles player. During his time at Monmouth he majored in Exercise Science, with a focus on biomechanics, and minors in sociology and anthropology.
After college he moved back to southern California and became a full-time teaching pro with Match Play Tennis Academy as well as the head boys' and girls' tennis coach for Arrowhead Christian Academy. While there the girl's team for the first time ever had 3 starting players qualify for the state individual tournament, and the boys finished with an undefeated regular season before falling in the semifinals of team state, while 4 players on the boy's side qualified for individual state. In summer of 2019 he moved to Kentucky to join Five Seasons Sports Club, where he now serves as a full-time teaching pro, tournament director, seasonal director, and head stringer. In Spring of 2020 he joined the Thomas More tennis program as an assistant coach for the men's and women's programs, and starting this year, fall of 2022 he has taken over as the head coach of the men's team.
Ronnie's been a USPTA Certified Professional since 2018.
