Men's Basketball to Host Jim Connor Classic

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) -  The Thomas More men's basketball team is set to host its first home game of the season in the Coach Jim Connor Classic this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16th and 17th. 


Game 1: 5:30 p.m. - Akron-Wayne vs. Hanover
Game 2: 7:30 p.m. - Kent St. Tuscarawas vs. Thomas More


Game 3: 1:00 p.m. - Kent St. Tuscarawas vs. Hanover
Game 4: 3:00 p.m. - Akron-Wayne vs. Thomas More

  • New Head Coach Justin Ray looks to get his first ever collegiate win as a head coach this weekend. 
  • The Saints opened their season last Friday, taking on Emory & Henry.
  • The Wasps defeated the Saints 72-65 for a comeback win. 
  • Senior Damion King recorded the team high, 21 points, along with the team-high eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, and went 6-6 from the foul line. 
  • Ralph StoneBrandon Horne, and Max Knisley shared a three-way tie with nine points each. 
  • Stone also put up six rebounds, one steal, and one block. 
  • Horne also recorded six rebounds, one assist, and two steals. 
  • Knisley recorded four rebounds to go with his nine points. 


  • The Golden Eagles come into the weekend 1-4 overall this season. 
  • The lone win came in the first game of the season to Ohio University-Zanesville with the Golden Eagles winning 132-74. 
  • Kent St. Tuscarawas is averaging 81.2 points per game, 30.6 rebounds per game, 17.0 assists per game, and 7.8 steals per game. 
  • Junior Gunnar Tharp is leading the team with 18.2 points per game. 
  • Sophomore Shakur Daye leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game. 
  • Freshman Malik Campbell holds the team high with 5.0 assists per game. 


  • Akron-Wayne comes into the weekned 2-1 overall on the season.
  • The Warriors are coming off an 85-80 win over Ohio State University-Mansfield. 
  • The Warriors are on a two-game win streak, defeating Ohio University-Chillicothe, 83-81.
  • Their lone loss came to Penn State University-Shenango, falling 73-68.
