Women's Tennis Ends Season to Campbellsville in MSC Quarterfinals

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's tennis team fell to No. 3 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) over the weekend (April 21-22) 4-0 to end their 2023 season. The Saints finish with an overall record of 9-9 and 5-5 in conference.

• First year Alexis Covington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and first year Heidi Kane (Gilford, Ind./East Central) fell to Miru Nonaka and Oriana Espinoza 6-4.
• Sophomore Noelia Martinez Garcia (Santander, Spain/IES Las Llamas) and sophomore Dakota Schroeder (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecaneo) were defeated 6-4 to Clara Asprella and Angela Mendoza.
• Senior Kimberly Sabga (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago International School of Port of Spain) and junior Cassie Saner (Independence, Ky. Simon Kenton) came up short to Sarah Mitchell and Ariadna Perez 6-3.

• Alexis Covington and Miru Nonaka went 3-6 and 3-0 unfinished.
• Dakota Schroeder and Ariadna Perez went 6-0 and 5-1 unfinished.
• Noelia Garcia Martinez fell to Angela Mendoza 6-2 and 6-1.
• Cassie Saner was defeated 6-2 and 6-1 to Oriana Espinoza.
• Sarah Mitchell and Heidi Kane went 3-6 unfinished.
• Kimberly Sabga fell to Clara Asprella 6-1 and 6-2.

The Saints return to the court next fall to compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and transition into Division II.
