(BATAVIA, Ohio) – The Thomas More University men's golf team posted their best 54-hole score of the season Tuesday afternoon, after a 297 today gave them a ninth-place finish and an 894-stroke total. The Saints shot rounds of 298 and 299 yesterday. Thomas More was in action at the NKU Jewell Invitational, hosted by Northern Kentucky University at Elks Run Golf Club.
- Jerod Baynum (California, Ky./Bishop Brossart) and Dakota Finn (Florence, Ky./Boone County) both had the best individual finishes for Thomas More, with a tie for 36th at 222.
- Baynum shot 75, 75, 72 and Finn went 72, 74, 76.
- This is a season-best score for both players in a 54-hole tournament.
- Finn's 72 is a season-best 18-hole score.
- Baynum made seven birdies in the tournament, while Finn made 10.
- Mason Butler (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) was one stroke behind at 223 (72, 75, 76), tying for 40th.
- He made eight birdies in the tournament.
- Junior Adam Owens (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) tied for 68th with a score of 232 (79, 80, 73).
- This is his best 54-hole score of the season and his 73 is his best 18-hole score this season.
- He made three birdies.
- Ben Epplen (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) finished in 79th with a 241 (84, 75, 82).
- Epplen had five birdies in the tournament.
- Connor Albrinck (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) finished in 83rd with a score of 246 (82, 85, 79).
- This is his best 54-hole score this season.
- He made five birdies.
The men's golf team will return to Mid-South Conference action in the MSC Championship on April 24th and 25th in Bowling Green, Ky. at the Bowling Green Country Club.
