(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The NAIA released their 2022-23 men's wrestling NAIA scholar-athletes this morning and Thomas More had four athletes recognized. This is the most the program has had since joining the NAIA.
In order to be nominated, you must have a 3.50 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, have been at your current institution for at least one full calendar year, and must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport.
Juniors
Ian Daugherty (Burlington, Ky./Cooper) and
Daulton Mayer (Mentor, Ky./Walton-Verona) were honored for the Saints, along with sophomores
Dru Baker (Findlay, Ohio/Liberty-Benton) and
Chase Emmert (Aurora, Ind./South Dearborn). This is the second time that Daugherty has been honored and the first time for Mayer, Baker, and Emmert.
Daugherty holds a 3.93 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and is a Law major. Mayer is a Secondary Education – Social Studies major with a 3.55 GPA. Baker is a Middle School Education major with a 3.52 GPA, while Emmert majors in Criminal Justice with a 3.74 GPA.
