Men's Golf Finishes Fourth In 2022-23 Debut

(Alliance, OH) – The Thomas More University men's golf team hit the links this weekend for their first tournament of the 2022-23 season, the Malone Fall Classic hosted by Malone University at Tannenhauf Golf Club. This was Robby Pickett's debut tournament as head coach of the Saints.

They finished fourth in the nine-team field, with a team score of 603 (297, 306). It was a field that featured a few of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference schools that the Saints will become familiar with in future years.  

Results
Thomas More had eight golfers competing this weekend. Sophomore Mason Butler led the way for the Saints, finishing fifth with a 146 (76, 70). First-year Ben Epplen (71, 78) and junior Jerod Baynum (80, 71) finished tied for 10th and tied for 12th for Thomas More, respectively.

Senior Landon Finn finished in a tie for 20th, with a 155 (75, 80) while Brennan Eilers tied for 30th (75, 83). Junior Dakota Finn finished with a two-day total of 162 (84, 78) and finished in 42nd, while Connor Albrink placed 52nd (90, 87) and Spencer Magee finished tied for 53rd (89, 89). Overall, Thomas More had three rounds under par during the weekend.

What's Up Next
The Saints will have some time off before their next tournament on Oct. 3-4 in Goodlettsville, TN at the Music City Invitational.
