History

(RICHMOND, Ky.)-Thomas More University men's tennis team opened up their season this weekend (Septemeber 23-24) at the ITA Colonel Invite.

Day One

Junior Anderson McDowell (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) and first year Jackson Poulos (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic) defeated Jett Anderson and Jasper Gazzo from Centre in the round of 16 with the score of 6-3.
First year Samuel Mimbrero Lendinez and senior Sergio San Pablo (Madrid, Spain/Valdefuentes) also won in the round of 16 against Julian Lopez and Maya Tateishi from Midway with the final score of 7-5.
In the quarterfinals, Anderson McDowell and Jackson Poulos defeated Asbury's Alejandro Caceres and Chakib Madcur by the score of 7-5.
Samuel Mimbrero Lendinez and Sergio San Pablo won by the score of 6-2 in the quarterfinals against EKU's Julappagari Anurag Reddy and Zachary White.

Day Two

In the semi-finals, Anderson McDowell and Jackson Poulos fell to Martiz Mayer and Kristoffer Shahlbrand from EKU by the score of 4-6.
Samuel Mimbrero Lendinez and Sergio San Pablo also fell in the semi-finals to Asbury's Gregorio Ingles and Rodrigo Cavero Virreira.

Day One-Round One/Two of Pool Play

Jackson Poulos fell to Midway's Lakshay Vivel by the score of 0-6 and 3-6. He would then defeat Alejandro Cuceres from Asbury by the scores of 7-6 (5), 4-6, [10-2].
Anderson McDowell was defeated by Centre's Jett Anderson 6-7 (7) and 4-6. He then fell to Joseph Lewis from Asbury by the scores of 4-6 and 3-6.
Sergio San Pablo would defeat Izan Casado from Midway with the scores of 6-3 and 6-3. San Pablo would then fall to Jasper Gazzo from Centre with the scores 6-7 (4) and 6-7 (1).
Samuel Mimbrero Lendinez won against Yurl Tirado from Asbury by the scores 6-2 and 6-3. He then fell to Owen McCarter from Midway by the scores 6-2, 5-7 [6-10].

Day Two-Round Three of Pool Play and Finals

Jackson Poulos in the first position defeated Faraz Ghamosar from Centre by the score of 6-4, 3-6, [10-6]. Poulos would fall to Martiz Mayer from EKU in the Championship by the scores of 1-6 and 3-6.
Anderson McDowell defeated Midway's Maya Tateishi in the third position with the scores of 7-6 (6) and 6-3. McDowell would not play in the rounds of the playoff.
In the second position, Sergio San Pablo would win against Centre's Emerson Dean with the scores 4-6, 7-6 (4), [16-14]. He would then upset EKU's number one position Zach White in the exhibition round with the scores of 4-6, 6-3, and 11-9.
Samuel Mimbrero Lendinez defeated Brian Graves from Centre in the second position by the scores 6-3 and 6-1. Mimbrero Lendinez would fall to J. Anurag Reddy from EKU in the Robin Round playoff by the scores of 1-6 and 0-6.
