(READING, Pa.)-Thomas More University men's rugby team lost in the National Collegiate Rugby Tournament Semifinals Saturday night (December 3rd.) to Queens by a score of 37 to 19. This match marks the end of the 2022 fall season for Thomas More, finishing with an impressive record of 7-1 and winners of the Big Rivers Rugby Conference Championship.
- After trailing 17-0, the Saints got on the board with a try scored by first year Mateo Holway Casini (Buenos Aires, Argentina). The conversion kick was no good by first year Rafael O'Gorman (Tucuman, Argentina / Colegio San Patrico). Score was 17-5 Queens.
- After another Queens score, the Saints answered with a sophomore Josh Foy (Blue Ash, Ohio / St. Xavier) score and a converted kick by Rafael O'Gorman to make the score 22-12 Queens.
- Queens scored again to make it 27-12, and Thomas More answered with a long score by first year Farid Salim (Salta, Argentina / Colegio Belgrano). Rafael O'Gorman converts the kick and cuts the Queens lead to just 8 points. 27 to 19 Queens.
- Two late Queens scores pushed the final score to 37 to 19.
The Saints fall season comes to a close. They will return to action for their spring season in March of 2023.Â
