Men's Basketball Suffer a Heart wrenching 64-55 Loss to Morningside to End their Season

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)- No. 2 seeded Thomas More men's basketball team suffer a heart wrenching 64-55 loss to No.1 seeded Morningside Saturday night (March 13) to end their 2020-2021 season. The Saints overall record this season was 17-10.

  • To start things off for the Saints was redshirt junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) who drove to the basketball to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.
  • With 10:41 on the clock Senior guard Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) made a big 3-point shot to put the Saints back up 14-12.
  • Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) secured the score ending the half with a lay-up to put the Saints ahead 34-24.
  • Batte led the Saints in the first half with 12 points and had two rebounds and an assist.
  • Sophomore center Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) followed with eight points and one assist and led the team recording five rebounds.
  • Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) led the Saints with two assists and had three rebounds and two assists.

  • Pack led things off for the Saints making a lay-up to put the Saints up 34-28 with 17:44 on the clock. 
  • Rudy swished a 3-point shot assisted by Batte with 3;18 to play to cut the Mustangs lead to 56-53.
  • The Saints came up short and fell 64-55 to end their great season.
  • Rudy led the Saints in the second half with 10 points, two rebounds, and one assist. 
  • Batte followed with seven points, two rebounds, and one assists.

  • The Saints were 35% (21-60) from the field and 33.3% (9-27) from the 3-point line.
