(DAYTON, Ohio) – The Thomas More University men's tennis team defeated Cedarville University, 7-0, today (Saturday, February 22, 2020) at Five Seasons Sports Club in Dayton, Ohio.
- Thomas More won the doubles point as it won two of the three matches.
- No. 1 pair of sophomore Gavin Dail (North Hollywood, Calif./Van Nuys) and junior Jared Haught (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic) fell 6-4.
- First-year Sergio Bermeio (Madrid, Spain/Valdefuentes) and sophomore Ethan Caruso (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
- The No. 3 tandem of sophomore Jaret Fidler (Bakersfield, Calif./Centennial) and junior Brandon Kwok (Sugar Land, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) fell, 6-4.
- Dail was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at No. 1.
- Bermeio won at No. 2 by the scores of 6-3, 6-4.
- Caruso posted a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 3
- At No. 4, Haught was a 6-2, 6-2 winner.
- Fidler won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5.
- Junior Josh Huster (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) recorded a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) win at No. 6.
- Thomas More returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Miamisburg, Ohio to take on NCAA Division I Wright State University at 11 a.m. indoors at the South Regency Tennis Center.
