(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More University men's tennis team defeated Shawnee State University, 7-0, tonight (Saturday, February 1, 2020) in its Mid-South Conference opener played indoors at the Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-South.

- The No. 1 pair of sophomore Gavin Dail (North Hollywood, Calif./Van Nuys) and junior Jared Haught (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic) were 6-0 winners.
- First-year Sergio Bermeio (Madrid, Spain/Valdefuentes) and sophomore Ethan Caruso (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) won 6-0 at No. 2.
- The No. 3 tandem of sophomore Jaret Fidler (Bakersfield, Calif./Centennial) and junior Brandon Kwok (Sugar Land, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) won 5-1.
- Dail was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 1.
- Bermeio won at No. 2 by the score of 6-1, 6-1.
- Caruso won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
- At No. 4 Haught won 6-2, 6-7, 1-0.
- Junior Jeffrey Schenk (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.
- Fidler was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 6.
- Thomas More returns to action next Friday (February 7) when it hosts Union (Ky.) College at 7 p.m. at Five Seasons Sports Club.
