(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – The Thomas More University wrestling team split two matches at a double dual meet today (December 17, 2019), falling to Life University, 32-15, in the first match and defeating host Huntingdon College, 25-16, in Montgomery, Alabama.
- Senior Avery Jones (Amelia, Ohio/Glen Este) was 2-0 with two pins to lead the Saints, winning in 2:42 over Life and 2:32 over Huntingdon at 184.
- Senior James Caniglia (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) went 2-0 at 197, as he won a 4-1 decision over Life and a 9-2 decision over Huntingdon.
- First-year Hunter Barge (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison) won his only match, a 2-0 decision against Huntingdon at 133.
- First-year Cameron Baird (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison) was 1-1 with a 5-4 decision over Huntingdon at 141.
- Junior Andrew Taylor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) was 1-1 with a 16-4 major decision win over Huntingdon at 174.
- Sophomore James Mulenga (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) earned two forfeit wins at 125.
- Thomas More will return to action on January 4, when the Saints will travel to North Manchester, Ind., for the Spartan Mat Classic.
