(BEREA, Ky.) – The Thomas More University men's tennis team swept Berea College, 9-0, today (Friday, October 5, 2018) at the Wilson Evans Tennis Complex in Berea, Ohio.
- The Saints extended their winning streak to three matches and improved to 3-1.
- The Mountaineers fall to 0-1.
- No. 1 pair of senior Derrick Kwok (Sugar Land, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) and sophomore Jared Haught (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic) won 8-1.
- No. 2 tandem of junior Sheldon Preisler (San Diego, Calif./Boone County (Ky.)) and sophomore Jeffrey Schenk (For Thomas, Ky./Highlands) won 8-0.
- First-year Ethan Caruso (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and sophomore Brandon Kwok (Sugar Land, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) won 8-1 at No. 3.
- D. Kwok was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 1.
- At No. 2, Caruso won 6-0, 6-0.
- Schenk was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 3.
- Preisler won at No. 4 by the score of 6-0, 6-0.
- First-year Jaret Fidler (Bakersfield, Calif./Centennial) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5.
- Sophomore Alex Traylor (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 6.
- Thomas More closes out the Fall portion of its 2018-19 scheduled on Sunday (October 7) when it hosts future Mid-South Conference foe Shawnee State University at 12 p.m. at the Notre Dame Academy Courts in Park Hills, Kentucky.
