OFFICIAL ATHLETICS SITE OF THE THOMAS MORE SAINTS

Thomas More Sweeps Bethany, 9-0

(BETHANY, W.Va.) – The Thomas More College women's tennis team swept Bethany College, 9-0, today (Sunday, September 11, 2016) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Ewing Tennis Courts in Bethany, West Virginia.

With the win, the Saints improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Bison fall to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the PAC.

The Saints won all three doubles matches by the scores of 8-0.  The No. 1 team was first-year Brooke Warden (Edgewood, Ky./Dixie Heights) and sophomore Maryann Meadows (Cold Springs, Ky./Notre Dame Academy), the No. 2 tandem was senior Anna Hetzer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) and sophomore Nicole Capodagli (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) and the No. 3 team was sophomore Sarah Fellinger (North Bend, Ohio/Taylor) and first-year Lacey Pohlman (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands).

Thomas More swept the singles matches in dominating fashion.  Warden won at No. by the score of 6-0, 6-0, Hetzer won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, Meadows won at No. 3 by the score of 6-0, 6-0, Capodagli won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4, Pohlman won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and Fellinger won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

The Saints return to action on Wednesday (September 14) when it plays Division I member Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
