Saints Fall to Bethany and Waynesburg

(BETHANY, W.Va.) – The Thomas More College men's tennis team dropped two Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matches today (Sunday, April 10, 2016) at the Ewing Tennis Center in Bethany, West Virginia.  The Saints fell 8-1 to host Bethany College and 5-4 to Waynesburg University.

With the two losses, the Saints fall to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the PAC.

In the match against Bethany, senior Sergio Pascual (Carrollton, Ky./Carroll County) earned the Saints' lone win as he won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Against Waynesburg, the No. 3 doubles team of junior Hannes Snorrason (Reykjavik, Iceland/Bishop Moore (Fla.)) and junior Brandon Lorentz (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) won by forfeit.  In singles play, Pascual won at No. 3 by the score of 6-2, 6-0, while Snorrason and Lorentz won at No. 5 and 6 respectively by forfeit.

Thomas More returns to action on Tuesday (April 12) when it hosts across-the-river rival Mount St. Joseph University at 4:30 p.m. at the Covington Catholic Courts in Park Hills, Kentucky.
