(WESTERVILLE, Ohio.) – The Thomas More College wrestling team fell, 36-10, to Otterbein University tonight (Wednesday, November 9, 2016) in a non-conference match at the Rike Center in Westerville, Ohio. Tonight marked the first match in program history.
First-year John Skirkey (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) earned the first points in program history as he earned five points at 133 as he won 15-0 on a technical fall. The Saints earned another five points at 149 when first-year Ryley Regan (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) won 16-1 on a technical fall.
Four Saints fell by decision as first-year Latear Dukes (Barryton, Mich./Chippewa Hills) fell 8-3, first-year Dalton Jones (Ross, Ohio/Ross) fell 9-4, first-year Avery Jones (Amelia, Ohio/Glen Este) fell 14-11 and first-year Ahmad Hameidan (Florence, Ky./Boone County) fell 12-5.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (November 12) when it travels to Washington, Pennsylvania to compete at the Washington & Jefferson College Invitational starting at 9:30 a.m.
