(BEREA, Ky.) - The Thomas More College men's tennis team fell, 5-4, to Berea College today (Sunday, March 23, 2014) in a non-conference match at the Wilson Evans Tennis Complex in Berea, Kentucky.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 0-3 on the season and with the win, Berea improves to 2-1.
Berea led 2-1 after doubles action as the Saints' lone point came from the No. 1 tandem of freshmen Austin Justice (Mason, Ohio/Mason) and Jared Justice (Mason, Ohio/Mason), who won 8-6.
In singles play, Jared Justice won 6-7(5-7), 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 2, Austin Justice won 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 and senior Ben Millman (FPaducah, Ky./Community Christian) won 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 at No. 5.
The Saints are idle until April 5 when they host Saint Vincent College. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills, Kentucky.
