(PARK HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's tennis team fell, 6-3, to Brescia University today (Saturday, October 11, 2014) in a non-conference match at the Notre Dame Academy Courts in Park Hills, Kentucky.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 4-7 and with the win, the Bearcats improve to 4-3.
The Saints trailed 2-1 after doubles play as the No. 3 tandem of freshman Erica Guenther (Florence, Ky./Boone County) and sophomore Maddie Voelkl (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade Julienne) won by forfeit for the Saints' lone point.
In singles play, sophomore Anna Hetzer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) won 5-4, retired at No. 2 and junior Paige Thoerner (Taylor Mill, Ky./Beechwood) won by forfeit at No. 6.
Thomas More returns to the courts later today when it hosts Carlow University at 3 p.m. at the Notre Dame Courts.
