Thomas More Finishes 25th at Pete Willison Invitational

(WHEATON, Ill.) – The Thomas More University wrestling team finished 28th at the Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College today (Saturday, January 26, 2019) inside King Arena in Wheaton, Illinois.

  • Junior Avery Jones (Amelia, Ohio/Glen Este) finished eighth at 184 as he had a medical forfeit win and then had a 10-3 decision loss and fell in the seventh place match by a 5-2 decision.
  • Junior James Caniglia (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) fell by a 10-7 decision in his consolation bracket match at 197.

  • Thomas More returns to the mat next Saturday (February 2) when it travels to Berea, Ohio to compete in the John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.
  • Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. inside the Lou Higgins Fieldhouse.
