(MARIETTA, Ohio) – The fourth-ranked Thomas More University women's basketball team remained undefeated as it defeated Marietta College, 81-75, tonight (Wednesday, December 5, 2018) at Ban Johnson Arena in Marietta, Ohio. The Saints improved to 9-0, while the Pioneers fell to 5-2.
- Thomas More shot 54.9 percent from the field as it connected on a 28-of-51 shots.
- The Saints were 50 percent from behind the three-point arc as they were 10-of-20.
- Marietta led by as many as six points in the first half and pulled within three points with 1:23 to play in the game.
- Thomas More led by 16 points in the second half.
- The Saints had five players finish in double-digit scoring.
- Senior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) finished the game with 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.
- Junior guard Kaela Saner (Florence, Ky./Boone County) had 16 points in the game and was four-of-six from behind the arc.
- Sophomore guard Briana McNutt (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) had 13 points.
- Senior guard Kelly Clapper (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic) finished with 11 points.
- Junior forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) tallied 10 points.
- Thomas More will fly to Walla Walla, Washington to compete in the Kim Evanger Raney Classic on Friday and Saturday (December 7 and 8). The Saints will play Whitworth University on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific and the host Whitman College on Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific.
