Men's Track and Field Compete at Denison Big Red Invitational

(GRANVILLE, Ohio) - The Thomas More men's track and field team competed at the Denison Big Red Invitational today. The meet did not have a team score, however, the Saints had top-10 finishes in 15 different events.

  • Jacob Steinmetz finished second in the discus throw with a final distance of 44.16-meters. 

  • Todd Lewis finished third, just a few meters behind Steinmetz, with a distance of 42.51-meters in the discus throw.

  • Ryan Everidge placed fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 41.75-meters. 

  • Andy James finished in the top-10 in the javelin throw, placing 10th with a distance of 32.63-meters. 

  • Steinmetz also finished second in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.67-meters. 

  • Lewis placed fourth in the shot put, with a distance of 13.66-meters, while Steinmetz finished fifth just a tenth of a meter behind Lewis, with a distance of 13.55-meters. 

  • Everidge also finished in third in the pole vault with a height of 3.65-meters. 

  • Michael Campbell placed seventh in the 1500-meter run with a final time of 4:17.57.

  • James also finished in fifth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.29.

  • Corey Young and Shawndale Mincy placed in the top-5 of the 400-meter dash, as Young placed second with a time of 50.72 and Mincy was less than a second behind with a time of 51.39 finishing in third. 

  • Ross Klocke placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.96, while Michael Campbell placed ninth with a time of 2:03.36. 

  • James placed in the top-10 for his third event of the night, finishing in eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.36.

  • Three Saints placed in the top-10 in the 200-meter dash, as Montez Taylor placed third with a time of 22.61, TJ Moore finished tied for fourth with a time of 22.90, and Makai Lewis placed sixth with a time of 2.95. 

  • In the 3000-meter run, Oscar Ramirez placed fifth with a time of 9:15.18.

  • The men's 4x400-meter relay finished in first place with a combined time of 3:29.12.

  • The Saints compete next in the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
